I designed this room for a 2-year-old boy who was transitioning out of his crib into his “big boy bed”. His nursery had many adorable animal-themed accessories and I incorporated several into his new bedroom design. I wanted to give the room a design that he could easily grow into with a more mature, yet fun, color scheme. Orange was his favorite color so I incorporated pops of it throughout the room, in the DIY painted accent wall, pillow, and nightstand. I selected a daybed with a trundle. The trundle served two purposes - extra sleeping space and a buffer in case the toddler fell out of bed. I used his existing dresser and included some DIY book ledges on an angled wall that wouldn’t fit a furniture piece.
